Long Live Southbank!

It’s been an age – managed to get out last weekend for a few hours. Insanity staved off for a wee while …

Street Photography is Rubbish.

Today I am mostly annoyed.
Here is the evidence.

Mundane is the new rock and roll

Someone in internet land had this to say about this picture “… you really need the proper subject matter to make this kind of thing work, though, and that’s of course partially beyond your control. This picture, for example, would benefit from having either two parallel (sort of the same) or opposite (profoundly different and contrasting) elements in each panel. There’s neither any connection nor any compelling contrast between that woman and that man and on their own, they’re both pretty mundane subjects.”

I kind of get where they’re coming from …. but on the other hand I like the fact that these two subjects are mundane. That’s how they were when I saw them. They’re both wrapped up in their individual worlds.

I’m a bit over this need to make everything look super surreal. If it doesn’t really look like that – then … it doesn’t.
