LUMIX IN THE CITY

ANOTHER day out with the Lumix. I forgot about exposure compensation – next time I’ll be on it. Town is still pretty quiet, I realise I have a strange obsession with getting pictures with just one person in them, I love the Blatavnik building – and my brother isn’t a hardened crim … the camera does actually lie.

Relearning the little lumix

AS I have some time at the moment I thought I’d reaquaint myself with the little Lumix (DMC LF1 bought about a million years ago as a reward for something or other …) It took me a while to figure some of it out again … and it still needs some work, but overall I’m not disappointed with the results and Chelsea Physic Garden is always an obliging model. (I promise the next post will be of somewhere different.)

All across the frame

Brick Lanewards for Marine

Go to Brick Lane โ€“ take pictures of the graffiti. Ok โ€“ Iโ€™ll give it a go. I havenโ€™t managed to break away from the myriad clichรฉs โ€“ I may need to go back and try this again โ€“ a few thousand times. But as always it was fun trying.

Step into the light?

Trying to get used to the new little camera …. I know it is capable of great great things … but the other day I took a picture of my friend which was perfecty exposed appart from …. her whole head! So – I suppose this is a step up from that!! Ah the joys of learning ๐Ÿ™‚

Comfort Zone Obliterated

Today I went into town and forced myself to ask a whole heap of people if I could take their portrait. A kind of terrifying experience – but a really good one – would totally recommend it. I’d say about 95% of people that I asked said yes – and of the ones that said no there was only one that was a little odd. (She was older, didn’t speak Englith and I think she thought I was trying to sell her something!) Ok – so here are some of my favourites …
